The new Sloten Area is fairly new development in the West of Amsterdam. This neighborhood is popular for people with children, because it is safe and offers lots of playground and green. You can still park for free in this area, and finding a parking place is never a problem. There is a direct tramline into town! Which will take you about 15 ,minutes. From here you have easy access to the ring road towards the Schiphol area for example!
